For Kelly Hagans, building things right isn’t just a career—it’s a lifelong habit. Growing up on a farm, Kelly learned early on how to be resourceful, solve complex problems with whatever tools were at hand, and appreciate the value of an honest day’s work. He got his official start in the trades working summer landscaping jobs before moving on to frame houses under the guidance of his brother. After graduating high school in Oregon, Kelly moved to Idaho to attend Boise State University and immediately fell in love with the Treasure Valley, choosing to make Boise his permanent home.
Kelly answered the call to serve by joining the U.S. Air Force in 1999. As a veteran with extensive training in military logistics, he deployed to both Kuwait and Oman in the pivotal years immediately following 9/11. During his service, he was tasked with managing the SAAM (Strategic Airlift Capability) yard in Kuwait—a high-stakes role that required pinpoint precision, coordination with individual military units, and managing complex cargo for critical missions. This foundational experience instilled in him a razor-sharp attention to detail and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
Following his service, Kelly spent several years working with local non-profits, a chapter of his life that allowed him to hone his communication, empathy, and community-building skills. He then transitioned into the building supply sector, working for one of the top distributors in the country before helping launch a successful regional roofing, siding, and window materials supplier.
It was during this time on the supply side of the industry that Kelly noticed a persistent, widespread gap. Standing between suppliers, contractors, and clients, he frequently witnessed the profound disconnect and mutual frustrations that arose between homeowners and their builders. It became clear to him that while many people are excellent at the physical installation of a product, the industry was severely lacking in communication, honesty, and true transparency. He realized there was a vital niche for a contractor who could not only perform top-tier, quality work but also communicate clearly and effectively throughout the entire process.
Kelly founded Clearwater Home Services to bridge that exact gap. As a true “jack of all trades,” he serves as the vital link between homeowners, architects,
suppliers, and trade partners. Whether he is walking a framing crew through a blueprint, ensuring floor heights align perfectly, or helping a client navigate how to appropriately integrate roof lines, Kelly speaks the language of every person on the job site.
He particularly thrives on the complex moving parts of home additions. For Kelly, additions are about more than just adding square footage—it’s about helping people stay in the neighborhoods they love. He finds it incredibly rewarding to take a home in a perfect location and transform it so that it functions seamlessly for a family’s modern needs, ultimately giving them a space that truly feels like their home.
When he isn’t managing job sites, Kelly is a proud family man. He has been married to his wife since 2004, and together they are raising two wonderful high school students. As an outdoor enthusiast, Kelly fully embraces everything the Treasure Valley has to offer—whether he’s skiing up at Bogus Basin, hitting the local mountain bike trails, cheering on the Idaho Steelheads, or heading to Albertsons Stadium for a Boise State football game.
